The LESEGO TAU EDUCATION FOUNDATION (LTEF) is a community based, non-profit organisation, was founded in 2004, it was however officially registered in 2015 and was founded by Lesego Tau known by many South Africans as an Author, Human Development Practitioner, Impact Entrepreneur and a Community Activist, together with a vibrant team of highly dedicated professionals. The Foundation came as a need to address social challenges and the educational development of the South African youth.

LTEF was specifically established to honour and support great young people who sacrifice their lives for the development of the community and to further provide assistance for young people that are out of school to be in the education system. LTEF has been an Award recipient at the Premiers Service Excellence Awards; also scooping an Award for the 100 South African Shining Stars.

Mission, Objectives and Values: 

LTEF Mission Statement:

It has always been said; that young people are the future of every State; and truly that statement speaks volumes. However; an uneducated youth is a dying country. The inception of LTEF is to give life to an educated youth that can sustain the economic growth of the country through initiating innovative programmes that can get them actively involved in sustainable development. 

LTEF Objectives:

There is accordingly a need for the establishment of the LTEF as its principal Aims and Objective are as follows:

  • To engage and promote activities that speaks to the significance of education.
  • To motivate and empower the unemployed youth.
  • To increase community youth participation.
  • To create awareness on government opportunities.
  • To create corridors of hope for the youth.
  • To enhance communal support, encourage and boost youth productivity.  
  • To accelerate a youth that is goal and vision orientated.
  • To break the silence amongst the youth and to address issues of self-realization.
  • To commit on promoting education as a core business of the foundation. 
  • To be community driven. 
  • To create a transparent and responsible youth.
  • To be accountable to the public.
  • Develop and maintain a network of people that believe in the principles of LTEF.
  • Assisting with social needs, and to promote the right to a healthy lifestyle.
